Jennifer Lawrence was smoking hot at the 2011 Academy Awards. Her floor-length Calvin Klein dress showed everyone the proper way to rock a red gown on a red carpet. Loose curls and a neutral makeup look allowed Jennifer’s natural beauty to take center stage. Learn how to get this subtle, sexy look for yourself.

Gorgeous skin like Jennifer’s requires very little coverage. Apply a tinted moisturizer to the entire face, using your fingertips. Be sure to blend well into the jaw and neckline. Pat concealer onto any blemishes or redness, and underneath the eyes to cover dark circles.

The eyes were the main attraction in this makeup look. Jennifer used earth-toned shades to contrast with her pretty blue peepers. Begin by applying a shimmering brown color to the eyelids, blending all the way up to the crease. Smudge the shadow along the lower lash line as well. Use a lighter, shimmering-bronze shade in the crease of the lids, and the inside corners of the eyes. Next, use a black eyeliner pencil to draw a line across the upper lids, and inside the rim of the lower eyelids. Apply two coats of black mascara, before adding 4 to 5 individual false lashes to the outer corners of the eyes. To make the false lashes look more natural, apply a final coat of mascara.

Jennifer’s sizzling red dress was all the color she needed. A hint of pink on the cheeks and lips are all it takes to complete this look. Use a blush brush to apply a pale-pink shade to the apples of the cheeks. Apply a rosy-pink lipstick to the mouth, and go over with a clear gloss for added shine.

Jennifer’s loose curls give off a glamorous, polished vibe. The best thing about them? They’re super easy to recreate. Begin by blow drying the hair straight, with the dryer on medium-heat. Coat hair with a light layer of leave-in smoothing cream, and then set in hot rollers. Leave rollers in until they are completely cool, then remove one at a time. Gently run through hair with a flat paddle brush, and then spray with a flexible-hold hairspray. It really is as simple as that.
